Step 3: Send the Sample and Form to ITEL
Place the flooring, roofing, or siding sample and Test Request Form in a shipping bag and send to ITEL. Please note the tracking number in your files; you can track your shipment online.
- If the sample is wet, please place the Test Request Form in a zip-lock baggie before sending.
- If the sample is soiled (for example, a black water claim), please double-bag the sample and note the type of soiling on the inside bag so ITEL’s employees can take appropriate precautions when processing the sample.
- For ceramic, porcelain, and stone tile samples, use padded shipping envelopes or double-bag the sample to prevent sharp edges from puncturing the shipping bag.
- For asphalt roofing, roll or fold the sample to fit in a shipping bag. Large clay and concrete tiles can be taken to a UPS Store with an ITEL label for easy shipping.
Shipping Options
Pre-addressed shipping labels and bags are available from ITEL and sent to you free-of-charge. You can order supplies online or call ITEL Customer Service at 800-890-ITEL (4835).
ITEL supplies UPS Second Day and UPS Overnight shipping materials. The fee for shipping is added to the test invoice for convenient, one-invoice billing.
The overall turnaround time for your ITEL test will be dependent on both the ITEL Service Type as well as the shipping choice (Overnight or Second Day).
